LEANS news summer 2026

Over that time, we estimate we have had over 22,000 downloads from 80 countries. We have now welcomed an authorised Flemish-language translation  of the programme, with an authorised Australian cultural adaptation being piloted now and released in early 2027. Even more translations are under discussion.

Making LEANS mostly over video calls during lockdown, I think we would not have predicted this level of sustained interest over time, and from round the world. LEANS’ trajectory is a reminder that change from the bottom up does take time—to discover, to negotiate, to plan, to deliver. While LEANS was very fortunate to have some impact-focused funding in the 18 months immediately following its release, most of the team’s ongoing involvement since December 2023 has been a labour of love around our other responsibilities. We still care very much about LEANS partly because we have heard that so many of YOU care about it, and about neurodiversity education more broadly. It still really matters to us when people thank us for creating this content, or tell us things they liked. We also still think it’s ultimately a positive if people care enough to say that they disagree with the choices in LEANS. There never should be only one way to talk or teach about a topic as important and as dynamic as neurodiversity.
