Autistic people may find it difficult to speak to doctors. We want to understand what can make it difficult and what could make it better. What is this research about? This is an interview study to find out more about the experiences of autistic people speaking to a GP.To do this, we would like to interview 10 autistic adults about a recent appointment with their GP.We won't ask for any medical information about the appointment - instead we’d like to focus more on the communication, and speaking with the GP specifically. Who can take part?Adults (over 18) in ScotlandThose who have a formal diagnosis of autismThose who are fluent in EnglishThose who have seen their GP in person in the last 3 months for a physical health problemWhat is involved?Complete the short form with your contact details at this link. We will then contact you with more information about the study and the next steps. If you want to take part, we will organise an interview with you - either online or in person. It will take approximately one hour and will be audio recorded. We can provide a summary of findings when the study is complete. This article was published on 2024-11-27
