LEANS is on summer break

The LEANS research team is on summer break June-August 2023

What does “summer break” mean for LEANS?

Unfortunately this does not mean we’re off holidaying en masse, but that our small research team is temporarily stepping back from LEANS to spend time on other commitments and projects. Our break is planned for mid-June through the end of August. As many schools will be closed for at least part of this period, we hope the timing of our break will have minimum impact.

LEANS help and contacts over the summer

Our support for incoming enquiries will continue at a reduced level. The LEANS project e-mail account (and translation e-mail account) is still being monitored at least once per week.

The break does not affect incoming proposals for LEANS translation and licensing. We are accepting and reviewing translation proposals as usual.

During our summer break, please consider whether a LEANS Champion may be able to help you with your query, especially if you are an education professional or working with schools.

We’re not currently scheduling new talks or training

Please note that, effective immediately, our LEANS research team members working at the University of Edinburgh are not scheduling any new talks or training commitments. This means we will not sign up to any new events or training that take place during our summer break, and will not consider any invitations for later events that we receive during our summer break.

We will re-open our scheduling after September 4th, 2023. Please send (or re-send) your enquiry after that date, if it relates to an event later in the year.

Already-confirmed conferences and talks from June-November 2023 are unaffected by this policy change.

Looking for a LEANS talk ASAP? Please see our selection of recorded talks, to see if one might work for you. Our LEANS launch event recording is still the most comprehensive one! Some of our LEANS Champions are also interested in being part of events, especially virtual events.
